Im Zuge der CES (Consumer Electronics Show) haben sowohl LaCie als auch Ace Computers neue Hardware auf Basis von Windows Home Server angekündigt.
Wie unsere Kollegen von WeGotServed.com und UsingWindowsHomeServer.com von der CES berichten, zeigen die Firmen dort erstmals die neuen Geräte.
Ace Computers:
Ace will demonstrate attractive small form factor products running Microsoft Home Server software. Designed as a repository for a digital home$B!G(Bs content, these will retail under $1000. We will also show storage ranging from ultra small and quiet to enterprise grade with nearly 50TB capacity.
LaCie:
Today LaCie demonstrates a new network storage server based on the Microsoft® Windows Home Server platform. The product will be shown for the first time at the CES.This server leverages the success of LaCie’s award winning 5big Network, which features five user-replaceable drives, Gigabit Ethernet, and data protection support for data integrity. The technology demonstration shows that by combining Microsoft and LaCie technologies on a single platform, small business users can enjoy a seamless interface to automatically back up computers to a single server. The server secures their backup both locally and remotely by automatically copying their critical data to the cloud, using LaCie’s Wuala technology.
Während die Hardware von LaCie mehr auf den Small Business Markt ausgerichtet zu sein scheint, dürfte der WHS von Ace auch für den Normaluser interessant sein.
